Dear Parents & Carers

Snow/Ice and dangerous pavements

It seems that much of the playground ice has now melted so the gates will be open at the end of school today.  Some parents informed me of the trecherous conditions along some of the pavements and also the steps leading to Balfour Road.  I informed the Council of this but at the time was told that it wasn’t a priority.

Councillor Mike Jones, Preston Park Ward, has been very helpful and a parent got in touch with him regarding the gritting of the local roads.  He can be contacted on Mike.Jones@brighton-hove.gov.uk  We will try and put information out about the grit bins but they can be located on the Council’s wesite.  You can enter your postcode and the nearest grit bins are flagged up.  The address is:

http://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/index.cfm?request=c1237395

You can also phone Cityclean directly on 01273 292929 to report dangerously icy roads / areas as Cityclean crews are out gritting currently.
The school will try and liaise more closely with the Council and keep parents informed.

Kind regards
Robin Marlin
