What have we been learning this week? (Autumn 1  Week 2)


This week the children have been writing diary entries based around our class text 'Boy in a Girls’ Bathroom'. In grammar they have been learning about compound sentences and coordinating conjunctions.

At home you can: Please can you look out for compound sentences when reading at home.

Next week: We shall be writing a short story.


The children have been practising their place value skills. We have worked with numbers up to a million using place value grids and partitioning.

At home you can: Children could practise their times tables;

Next week: We will be looking at rounding.

The children have been given a place value sheet for this week.


The children have been given a grammar sheet with a focus on compound sentences.
