Arbor emails
We had an issue where Hotmail and Outlook were being hyper-vigilant and sending email from the school (via Arbor) to junk/spam.
We’re fairly confident now that this has been resolved, but if you’re still having problems below are instructions for how to tell Outlook & Hotmail to allow Arbor emails through.
๐ Quick Guide: Stopping Arbor Emails Going to Junk (Outlook)
Here’s a quick way to fix it. It depends if you're accessing it from the Outlook computer app, or through a web-browser like Edge/Chrome, so make sure you follow the right route:
๐ Outlook Desktop (Windows/Mac)
- Open Outlook.
- Go to Home → Rules → Manage Rules & Alerts.
- Select New Rule.
- Choose “Apply rule on messages I receive” → Next.
- Tick “with specific words in the sender’s address”.
- Click specific words and add:
@mail.arbor-education.com
Click Add → OK → Next. - Select “mark as not junk”
(or “move to Inbox” if that option isn’t available). - Click Next → Next, name the rule “Allow Arbor emails”, and Finish.
OR ๐ Outlook.com / Outlook Web
- Go to Outlook.com → click Settings โ๏ธ → View all Outlook settings.
- Go to Mail → Junk email.
- Under Safe senders and domains, click Add and enter:
- mail.arbor-education.com
- Then go to Mail → Rules → Add new rule.
- Name it “Allow Arbor emails”.
- Condition: Sender’s address includes →
- @mail.arbor-education.com
- Action: Move to → Inbox.
- Save.
๐ Final Step
Check the Junk Email folder once:
Rightโclick any Arbor message → Not Junk.
This helps Outlook learn it’s safe.
