Arbor emails

We had an issue where Hotmail and Outlook were being hyper-vigilant and sending email from the school (via Arbor) to junk/spam.

We’re fairly confident now that this has been resolved, but if you’re still having problems below are instructions for how to tell Outlook & Hotmail to allow Arbor emails through.

๐ŸŒŸ Quick Guide: Stopping Arbor Emails Going to Junk (Outlook)

Here’s a quick way to fix it.  It depends if you're accessing it from the Outlook computer app, or through a web-browser like Edge/Chrome, so make sure you follow the right route:

๐Ÿ“˜  Outlook Desktop (Windows/Mac)

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Go to Home → Rules → Manage Rules & Alerts.
  3. Select New Rule.
  4. Choose “Apply rule on messages I receive” → Next.
  5. Tick “with specific words in the sender’s address”.
  6. Click specific words and add:
    @mail.arbor-education.com
Click Add → OK → Next.
  7. Select “mark as not junk
(or “move to Inbox” if that option isn’t available).
  8. Click Next → Next, name the rule “Allow Arbor emails”, and Finish.

OR ๐ŸŒ Outlook.com / Outlook Web

  1. Go to Outlook.com → click Settings โš™๏ธ → View all Outlook settings.
  2. Go to Mail → Junk email.
  3. Under Safe senders and domains, click Add and enter:
  4. mail.arbor-education.com
  5. Then go to Mail → Rules → Add new rule.
  6. Name it “Allow Arbor emails”.
  7. Condition: Sender’s address includes →
  8. @mail.arbor-education.com
  9. Action: Move to → Inbox.
  10. Save.

๐Ÿ”  Final Step

Check the Junk Email folder once:

Rightโ€‘click any Arbor message → Not Junk.

This helps Outlook learn it’s safe.
