FAB - Balfour Primary School PTA
FAB (Friends At Balfour) is Balfour's incredibly dedicated and generous PTA.
Our mission: FAB is a Parent Teacher Association that raises money to enhance the educational experience for pupils at Balfour Primary School.
As a PTA, all parents, carers and staff are automatically members, and we welcome your views, thoughts, ideas and support.
We meet on a monthly basis and everyone is welcome.
We create meaningful events that bring the wider community together including the Summer and Christmas Fairs and Quiz Nights. We also coordinate many projects which are both wonderful for our children and families, and also raise valuable funds for the school.

Balfour Swimming School
Can your child swim? Being able to swim is a life-saving skill, especially living near the sea. For over 20 years, FAB volunteers have run the Balfour Swimming School for our Balfour children. Supporting absolute beginners through to advanced levels, our sessions are run on a Saturday morning and after school on a Thursday (during term time only) at Surrenden pool.
Booking a place for your child
If you are interested in enroling your child in the swimming school, then please complete the booking form which can be found here. We do not accept bookings via email. New starters only start at the beginning of a term.
Payment for the lessons are made on a termly basis. The lessons cost £6.00 a session. This covers the cost of pool hire and teachers and the remaining amount goes to FAB and is spent on swimming equipment, trips, activities to enrich our children’s time at school.
An “early bird” sibling discount applies if paid before the deadline date. If you miss the due date, you will be required to pay the full amount per child.
1st child full price £6.00 per session
2nd and subsequent children swimming on the same day 20% off £4.80 per session
BACS is the only payment method.
